Description: In conjunction with the major exhibition, Tales of the City: Drawing in the Netherlands from Bosch to Bruegel, on view the CMA in Fall 2022, the department of prints, drawings, and photographs seeks an intern to help with the planning, organization, and execution of a scholarly symposium, to be held on Nov. 4, 2022. Assigned tasks will include working with the curator and curatorial assistant on internal scheduling, participant communications, the generation of print materials, travel booking and reimbursement, and catering. The intern must be available for 5 hours per week (25 hours total) between October 1st and November 4th.


During this micro-internship, the intern will learn communication skills by interfacing with a number of different museum departments, and with the symposium participants, many from abroad. The intern will also learn the distinctions between planning scholarly/curatorial programs and other types of programs (such as public) at the museum. They will also learn the process of organizing a scholarly symposium, and how it is executed on the appointed day.
